Hylton Announcements & Information
Hylton welcomes Italian students from Verona, Italy!
20 Italian students from the Einaudi School in Verona, Italy, arrive in Woodbridge on September 6. They will be staying with Hylton families and following a full program of excursions and activities. They leave on September 16. We still have a few Italian students who need host homes for this 10 day visit. If you are interested in hosting, please contact our CISL Coordinator, Mrs. Meg Holt (holtmh@pwcs.edu). Click here for the application forms and proposed calendar for this visit.
Freshmen and New Student/Parent Orientation
Hylton's rising Freshmen and all students new to Hylton are encouraged to join us at Hylton High School on Thursday, August 28, 8:30 - 11:30 a.m., for New Student/Parent Orientation.  Important information and tours of the school will be provided.  Check back for more information.  See you there!
Orientation for New CISL Students & Parents
CISL students and parents are invited to a special CISL orientation on Thursday, August 28, immediately following the new student orientation. The event will include a light lunch and introductory presentation in Hylton’s gym, followed by student and parent break-out sessions in other locations. The orientation will end by 2 p.m.

The CISL Boosters group is providing a complimentary lunch to all new CISL students. For parent and guardians, there will be a $5 (cash only) charge per person. So that we order enough food, please contact the CISL Coordinator, Mrs. Holt (holtmh@pwcs.edu), with the number in your group.
Teacher Chosen for Leadership Academy
Congratulations to C.D. Hylton's Jessie Ayers who was selected to participate in the Virginia Center for Excellence in Teaching (VCET), a new, highly selective professional development program for teachers.  Ms. Ayers attended the Fine Arts Academy, which ran July 6 - 11 at GMU. Ayers is one of Virginias 100 best teachers selected to attend one of four innovative summer academies focused on classroom instruction, education policy and leadership. Click here to read more.
