STEM Summer Academy
Northern Virginia Community College STEM Initiative is offering a week-long STEM summer academy. This year's camp is open to HS juniors and seniors and features a forensics theme where students will unravel a mystery by conducting different STEM modules in a college wide setting. Click here for locations, program information and to apply. Please note, the registration deadline has been extended to May 20th.
Boys and Girls State Selection
The American Legion Boys’ State and American Legion Auxiliary Girls’ State are the premier programs for teaching students how government works while developing their leadership skills and gaining an appreciation for our rights as citizens.  Juniors selected for these prestigious summer programs will learn the art of public speaking, run for office, create and enforce laws, and actively participate in all phases of creating and running a working government.  They will meet and work closely with other students from across Virginia, and develop confidence and leadership skills that will help to shape their futures.

We are proud to announce and to congratulate Hylton’s representatives to this summer’s Girls and Boys State conventions.  Girls State, held at Longwood University:  Keyyatta Bonds, Elizabeth Boyt, Michelle Carter, Shauna Pegues, and Reagan Wampler.  Boys State, held at Radford University:  Joshua Jones and Jackson Graham, with Dominique Early selected as an alternate.
